June 5, 2026
Event Time:
10:30 am
Event Location:
Belmont House and Gardens, Throwley Road, Faversham, Kent, ME13 0HH, United Kingdom
Event Description
In this hands-on session, you will learn the art of Kanzashi, the delicate technique of folding fabric to create decorative flowers, but with a special twist: instead of the usual paper, silk or cotton, you will be sewing with authentic Harris Tweed, the world-renowned handwoven wool cloth made exclusively in the Outer Hebrides in Scotland.
You’ll learn how to fold, shape, and hand-sew fabric petals to create two beautiful Kanzashi flowers, perfect as brooches, hair accessories or unique embellishments for hats, bags and dog collars.
This workshop is designed for beginners and craft enthusiasts alike. All materials, including a selection of colourful Harris Tweed and fastenings of your choice will be provided as well as tea, coffee and biscuits.
Come and explore the beautiful fusion of two rich traditions and leave with handmade keepsakes that celebrate craftsmanship across cultures!
£50.00 per person.
Bookings are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another date.
