Tea Room Staff Vacancies

Belmont House is looking for three enthusiastic people to join the seasonal Tea Room staff team. You will need to enjoy working with people, be able to work efficiently alongside others but use your initiative when needed.

What Does This Involve?

The Tea Room is open on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays throughout April to September, from 1.00pm – 5.00pm.

The work will involve serving tea, coffee, cold drinks and light refreshments along with cakes to the public, experience an advantage but full training will be given.

We require two teams of two people to work alternate weekends but all the team will be expected to work full days when there is an event held, such as the Spring Fair etc. There will be opportunities to work extra hours when we are busy mid-week or to cover holidays.

You will need to enjoy working with people, be able to work efficiently alongside others but use your initiative when needed! Must have own transport due to rural location.

Please contact our Administrator, Andrea, for a chat on administrator@belmont-house.org or 01795 890202 Mon-Fri, 9.00am – 5.00pm.

Volunteer Guide Opportunities

All our visitors to Belmont are taken around the House by volunteers and so we are always on the lookout for new enthusiastic guides to join our team; so, if you think this is something you would like to find out more about then we would love to hear from you!

What Does This Involve?

During the season (April – September) the House is open for tours on Wednesdays at 11.00am and 1.00pm, Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays at 2.15pm and 3.15pm.

In addition, there are often pre-booked mid-week group tours on Tuesdays or Thursdays during the season and occasionally at other times of the year, as well.

An average tour may be for up 18 people and take just over an hour of your time.

You can guide as little or as often as you like but we would like to hope that guides would be available to do tours three or four times a month.

We will help and support you by providing all you will need to learn about Belmont, its Clocks, the Harris Family and the part they played in the history of Kent, Cricket, Britain and the Empire - all you need is a bit of confidence, a sense of humour and some patience.
