This exceptionally fine 22ct gold clock-watch, was retailed in London about 1800 by Breguet’s agent, Louis Recordon, at 33 Cockspur St (adjacent to Trafalgar Square today) but was probably manufactured in switzerland.
A clock-watch is a watch which sounds at hours every hour. Lord Harris bought the watch from horological dealer, Malcolm Webster, in 1950 but then sold it to retail clock, watchmaker and collector T.P Camerer-Cuss in 1953.
The Trustees were delighted to reacquire the watch when it came up for sale at Bonhams in May 2023.
