We are thrilled to welcome Anna as our new Trainee Gardener. Anna has joined us through the Work and Retrain as a Gardener Scheme (WRAGS).
The WRAGS scheme was established in 1993 by the Working for Gardeners Association (WFGA) to offer paid, part-time, hands-on horticultural training. Today, it caters to anyone looking to enhance their gardening skills and knowledge or pursue a career in horticulture.
Anna will be working with our garden team two days a week for a year. During this time, she will gain experience in a variety of seasonal gardening tasks, allowing her to develop and refine key horticultural skills. These include soil preparation, planting, propagation, lawn care, maintenance of borders and hedges, as well as the use of tools and machinery.
We’re absolutely delighted that Anna has joined us for what promises to be an exciting year. She will be a great asset to the team, and we’re really looking forward to seeing her flourish under the guidance of our Head Gardener, Alisa.
