Tearoom Assistant

We are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly individual to join our tearoom team in a hands-on role supporting the day-to-day running of the tearoom.

The ideal candidate will be keen to learn all aspects of our catering operation, take pride in delivering excellent customer service and enjoy engaging with visitors to help create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting with the daily operation of the tearoom
• Preparing and serving food and drinks
• Providing a high standard of customer service
• Maintaining cleanliness and food hygiene standards

Hours:
Thursday to Sunday, with additional hours assisting at events throughout the season. April to September. Approx. 16 hours a week.

Experience:
Previous catering or hospitality experience is preferred, but full training will be provided. Barista training and a Level 2 Food Safety certificate are desirable.

Location:
Due to our rural location, candidates must have their own transport.

Volunteering at Belmont

Our volunteers play a vital role in bringing Belmont to life, welcoming our visitors, and sharing their knowledge of the Harris family and the history of the house in a fascinating and enjoyable way.

We are currently recruiting Room Stewards for our Self-Guided House Tours which are run on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays from 1-3.30pm, April to September. No experience is required, just a passion for sharing with others.

Room Stewards

To offer a warm welcome to visitors to the house as one of our room stewards; to provide information on the various rooms open, to provide help to visitors who need it and to evacuate the house in case of the fire alarm. Room stewards also play an essential part in safeguarding the collections and artefacts.

We provide full induction, training and ongoing support for all our volunteers - along with a range of benefits to enjoy.
